Every so often I am unable to access a satellite office via a direct T1, usually during evenings or weekends. The ISP says its is not them.

Are there any logs I can view or monitoring tools I can use to determine whether it is a brief interupt in service or a problem with my PIX 515E?

You could try checking for physical / logical UP/DOWNS on the Router interface for the T1?

Also checking uptimes on both devices etc

Cheers

Routers are managed by the ISP, so that is not an option. PIX uptime is consistent. Is there any logs or command I can use to obtain more detail specifically from teh PIX?

You could initiate a regular ping to the 1st Router, 2nd Router, and find out from there.

1st Hop, 2nd Hop etc

That would be a solution if I were able to access the Firewall in real time. Usually these occurences are after-hours and I need to look back

Look at a piece of monitoring software, or syslog the firewall too.

When you leave at night go to a PC and do

ping -t [IP ADDRESS] >> connectionlog.txt

You can have several of these running with different targets (and log files) to see what exactly goes down and when.

Kiwi syslog server is free.
