PHP with Windows XP

Hi

I am about to buy a new computer with Windows XP Professional. On my old computer I downloaded PHP and MySQL to Windows 98 and used an Apache Server. Everything worked fine. I downloaded PHP, MySQL, and the Apache server as a complete package from a website called easyphp.org (all were automatically configured to work with each other which was very helpful). The versions that I am going to use with XP are:
PHP 4.2.0
MySQL 3.23.49
Apache 1.3.24

Please can you tell me if anyone has had any problems running PHP and MySQL on XP? If anyone has downloaded from the easyphp website and uses XP please let me know if you did or didn't have any problems. If any problems did arise how did you resolve them?

No problems here. I have used foxserv.net and also manually installed apache/php/mysql on a few Home and Pro XP systems.

Just make sure IIS has vacated your system.

At one point use Nusphere for exactly the setup you described... just recently trashed that and re-installed manually.

All is good on XP for me.

After a bit of configuration and tweaking it's also working a dream on XP. The only thing I have noticed obviously is the fact that you can't chmod your files in the cgi-bin directory because it's Windows based.

Ok thanks. I'll try it out when I get my new computer. I'll download from the easyphp website like I did last time and hopefully it will all work together. I wasn't sure if I'd have to do any extra configuration in the php.ini file because I was now using XP.
