Hi I have a customer with 6 Sites all with IP 500 and 2 V2 systems. They use Phone Manager Pro and really like it. The 2 new sites running V2 units are on 8.1 and we cant get Phone Manager Pro Licences so our reseller suggest to upgrade all phone systems to 8.1 and role our One X Portal instead. Is One X Portal vastly improved in 8.1 as I have had a play around with it before and doesn't seem to be as good as Phone Manager. Also the main thing I need is a way to transfer all the saved BLF / Speed dials and speed dial Tabs etc and import these into One X Portal as every users has a lot of these.

Is there way to do this? and any feedback on ONE XPortal would be appreciated as im nervous about coming away from phone manager

One-X Portal does not have all functionality that Phone manager has but has some other new options.
You cannot move the speeddials and you have to program the personal directory for them by hand at the moment.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Hey thanks for your reply. I see this been an issue as the customer is been forced away form Phonemanager and seems to have less of the features or im I wrong on this. What's the General reaction of users moving form Phone manger to most people like the change what extra features do you get. And do you mean for the personal directory we have to setup all the speed dials on each users login, if so does it then save these on the OneX Portal server?

Cheers

One-X Portal has no queue info for groups (really annoying)
The first 100 personal directory entries are stored on the IPO and the rest on the One-X server.
Where do they use Phonemanager for?

Use One-x on the new sites & leave the others on PhoneManager unless they want to change (it is possible to have PM running on a site that also has One-X) & the PM Pro licenses still work on V8.1 you just cannot get any more.

On the plus side One-X does offer some advantages. it is platform independent so it can be used by Mac & Linux users as well as Windows users.
they is also the One-X Mobility options on Android & Iphone as well as instant messaging support.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Thanks for your input :) . That may not be a bad idea to mix and match at the moment if it still works on 8.1. On the plus side Phonemanger in the past has been flakey and can crash a lot and lose it speed dials and tabs. They use it for all the BLF of different departments etc. and the tabs for there customer . So for Example 10 Tabs in phonemanager pro. 1 called Accounts, sales , marketing which the internal extensions so they can see presence and who's on the phone and the rest with there own external contacts which we imported from csv files
