This is on an IPO R10. The phone was unplugged over the weekend. I plugged it in at my desk yesterday and just got an endless boot loop.
After a reboot last Monday it ended up switching (spontaneously?) to a different extension. When the employee tried logging out of the extension to log back in to the correct extension, the strange display came up. See attached picture. Any ideas?

That is from the Libian Hackers Enforcement.

It means "you're screwed"[tongue]

Appearently you have a network issue to work on.

I have seen Janni and Intrigant use smileys in posts on the same day... I think amriddle's smiley are spreading digitally...

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Intrigrant, are you joking? I forwarded the pic to some colleagues and my distributor's tech support staff and they haven't seen anything like it. I also spent time online and haven't found anything like it. This is a brand new customer, who used to get support elsewhere...I would think their network is pretty secure...Please tell me more!

FYI, I asked my contact to try to reset the phone (Mute craft clear) and he said the phone won't let him get through it.

Yes it is a joke.

Does the phones have the correct formware version?
What type of phones do you have?

Go easy on Intrigrant... It's his first joke.[smile]

Craft menu can be disabled in the 46xxsettings, so not an absolute test.

If I was an engineer, I'd plug this thing into another system, preferably in house, and then bring it back to site when I got it working.
Have you looked at the 46xxsettings file in the IP Office?

I would not, there are many incompetent installers out there who do many stupid things resulting in insecurity of the IP Office.

Why has the is customer changed maintainer - is it because they felt the previous maintainer was not up to the job...

Clearly there is some serious corruption to this handset (hopefully it is only this one) I would start by replacing the handset AFTER a full network security audit of the system
it is 100% essential that the system cannot be reached via the public internet (no Public, No general port forwarding)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

The phones are 9630 and this is the only one having trouble, out of close to 100 handsets total. This system was maintained by a carrier (dial tone provider) who, I guess, is getting out of the phone system business. The site's own IT staff is good, which is why I think the network is ok. However, the site reports that they have always had issues that the provider couldn't fix, so wish me luck on this. I'll definitely check the IPO security settings.

Made me laugh out loud.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Looking at the picture I'm tempted to say hardware failure. Replace the handset and move on to making the system work

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
