I have a single Digital Phone (8410) set that rings one time only and does not display any information. The frequency of the ringing does not seem to follow any pattern. It rings from 2 minutes apart to 45 minutes apart.

Is there a command for a Definity G3siV6 to trace a call to see where it is originating from?

I have alreay changed ports, phones, and lines. The ringing follows the number.

Thanks.

I may be way out in left field here but could someone be dialing the number and somehow be transfering out, maybe it would ring once when connected and then they could transfer out, in other words a form of toll fraud???? Sort of like an aca short? This would help explain why the problem follows the number?

Do 'display errors' and then for 'active' on the right, change that to 'errors' and then put the extension or port down at the bottom and copy and paste the results into this forum.

Here is the test results...

I really do appreciate all the helpful hints. Just wish we could find a solution.

I would duplicate the station...then remove the original station...then tti the new station. If the problem persist, it is a misidentified FAC or ghost. If the problem goes away...duplicate the original station from the new station...

In the future everything will work...

Oh.. here is the station status

Try setting auto answer on the station form to lock the call when it happens. and then maybe you can status the set then and see what is connected and where it came from.

On the 'display errors' you have to change the 'active' on the right under 'Error List:', change that to 'errors', otherwise you won't get any errors except if there is an alarm. Then put the extension second from the bottom. Then enter that.

Have you done a list call yet to make sure no one has forwarded anything to this number? In my place we have button pushing happy people. We actually had a mini switchboard who would accidently forward audix to a station! She no longer has console permissions LOL. Also if it's a DID maybe you could have your LEC test it for you.

No errors to report. There is no forwarding on the switch to or from this number. Auto answer does not produce any results. I put a bridged-appearance for the number on my phone and my phone does not ring when 5685 rings.

Oh, and I rebooted the phone system last night. Still ringing this morning.

Have you tried to manually program the port to the set? I am starting to think this could be something acting flaky with TTI. I would go straight off the port in your EQ room and program a set in your switch to that port. Don't use TTI to do it. Let us know what happens.
