Ok. I screwed up and had a few Shockwave/Flash movies on my forms for a jazzy look. Once I discovered the reference hell I would have with client computers, I removed all Shockwave/Flash fluff from all forms. I now have a client computer (using an identical FE .mdb as other working client stations) that gives me "Function not available in Table-level validation expression" at strange places and strange times.

Under references, none are missing. Then only thing that makes this error go away is re-setting references to: Shockwave ActiveX, Flash ActiveX, or Flash Accessability.
I'm not sure which one does the trick.

Why is Access looking for such when I've deleted all Flash objects?

This is probably a stupid reply, have you deleted the controls in forms that originally held this shockwake stuff, the code that controlled it and any OLE Object fields in tables and any queries referencing them.

Bill

Yep. Gone. They were never referenced in queries or tables...only used as icing on the cake.

I assume you have checked for broken references and your app compiled ok?

Cheers,
Dan

Have you done a Compact and Repair on the Access mdb?

This one definitely is a mystery.

Have you tried debugging your app?

Bill

Debug? I've done my definition of debugging...which means I've searched behind every object to see if there is a hidden flash object - there isn't. I've compacted & repaired. I've recompiled. I've checked the other workstations that use identical copies of the .mdb, they work. I've checked references. Short of calling Angela Landsbury, I don't know what else to do.

Have you tried deleting the mdb from the client's pc and bringing over a new copy?
