Hi all. I have a Windows 2000 workstation on a Dell Optiplex 260 that is stuck in a state of perpetual rebooting. It gets to the Windows 2000 screen with the progress bar and then splashes a memory dump screen really fast that I have yet to make out entirely. Something about registry loading failed and then a memory dump, then reboots, over and over again forever like luggage. Same thing happens when trying to boot into safe mode. Any ideas?

I would try using some of the boot tools and diagnostics found on the ISO these guys have for download. So many things could cause what you're describing, I think you need to do some troubleshooting. . .

If you finally do get into safe mode, disable auto-reboot and see if you can get the contents of the bsod to display a little longer since of course they might give you a clue. Then again, they might not. . .]

Hope this helps,
Martin

If you have a digital camera...try taking a snap shot of the blue screen as it flashes by...the error message may give you a clue that you could post here or you can try googling the error message to see if others have had the same.
