Permissions problem

I am new to W2K Pro and haven't needed to set up policies on my NT or W2K servers, so I have little experience with policies.

I created my desktop by using a ghost image from our helpdesk. Since it was created with users in mind, it is pretty locked down with policies.

How do I grant my normal Domain ID the same permissions as the local administrator account? My Domain ID is a member of the Domain Admins group, which is in turn a member of the local Administrators group. However, when I log in with my Domain ID, the local policies for most users are applied, despite being a member of the Domain Admins group. I logged back in as local admin and verified that the Domain Admins group is a member of the local Administrators group.

Logged in with my Domain ID, I can edit policies. While I have thus succeeded in granting my Domain ID most permissions, I still keep running across things I can't do (such as editing my networking properties). I don't want to have to log out and log back in with the local Administrator account every time I want to change something.

What else do I need to do in order to have full permissions over the OS when logged in with my Domain account?

Thanks for your help with this.

Go to the control panel and users and passwords on the local pc logged in as administrator. Add a user ie jsmith on ie domain:JVC. Type in the user name and domain. Next click on the other button to make that user have administrator rights. It should show up like jsmith/JVC under group should say administrator. That will give your username admin rights to the local pc even logged onto the domain. Need to make sure you user account is a member of the local admin group.
