I am new to W2K Pro and haven't needed to set up policies on my NT or W2K servers, so I have little experience with policies.
I created my desktop by using a ghost image from our helpdesk. Since it was created with users in mind, it is pretty locked down with policies.
How do I grant my normal Domain ID the same permissions as the local administrator account? My Domain ID is a member of the Domain Admins group, which is in turn a member of the local Administrators group. However, when I log in with my Domain ID, the local policies for most users are applied, despite being a member of the Domain Admins group. I logged back in as local admin and verified that the Domain Admins group is a member of the local Administrators group.
Logged in with my Domain ID, I can edit policies. While I have thus succeeded in granting my Domain ID most permissions, I still keep running across things I can't do (such as editing my networking properties). I don't want to have to log out and log back in with the local Administrator account every time I want to change something.
What else do I need to do in order to have full permissions over the OS when logged in with my Domain account?
Thanks for your help with this.
