I read a thread on this forum a while ago on how to forward DIDs to an external number without having a phone attached.
I Have a Mics 7.1 with a PRI.
I tried year ago during a move to a new location, by just having them forward their phones to their new number before unplugging their phones.
It seemed to work , but the programing vanished after a short wile.
I had to put their DIDs on a set and forward the set to the reception at the new location.
A short time later I found That thread discussing this same problem and there was a solution listed, (complete with a bunch of stars) but I am unable to find the thread again.
This same company is moving a department to another location with a new number and would like to forward their existing DID to that new number.
Does anyone remember the solution or how to find that thread ?
Thank you

If it's a permanent call forward to this number, why not use the Telco to forward the DID number to the cell, then you are not using one of the trunks for forwarding?

Ynotphone
That is what I suggested, but I assume they didn't like the estimated monthly bill.
although they could probably drop a couple of PRI trunks if the IT department leaves.

Can I Set up a Target line and received digits to go to a rout and destination code that is programmed with the outgoing number
and just have it dial out without going to a set??

Thanks all
That is probably the thread I was looking for
I will give it a try , if I run into problems , I will use Curlycord's RAD idea .

You can also do it with a phone on site, just put the Target line on the phone and use the redirect feature then remove the Target line form the phone. The redirect feature will remain.

That sounds simple but could be hard to keep track of a year or two down the road.

I am having a little trouble getting my head around this one( could also remove the received digits from the Target Lines and program them as Des Codes. (you will also have to change any DN's that match the recvd. numbers))
And this one i'll have to look up ...Remote Access...In 20 years i have never had occasion to use it.....(Build a Remote Access package that allows access to the Line Pools you are using and assign it to the lines that are members of the pool.
Create a route for each of the des codes with the forward to number in the Dial Out/External Number field.
Create the associated Des Code, absorb all, and point it at the route.
Done!)....Are all of these methods still subject to the 3db signal loss, that line redirect causes??

Thanks

I'm still having a little trouble getting my head around the programing.

Is this talking about remote DISA access ?
If so how do I deal with the COS password?

I had a look at it today.
but didn't have much time to play with it.
still missing something
cleared dn YYYY
I set up auto DN YYYY (no DISA).
Changed
Remote pkg 02 To PRI A.

rout 002 (Dial out XXX XXX XXXX)
Dest code 81 to rout 002, absorb all
Rem LIne access
line 1
Remote pkg 02
came back with line 1-23 pkg 02

at this point I just got dial tone when I dialed the DID xxx xxx xxxx
I don't know what points to the destination code, I tried putting 81 in the priv acc code
dialed again and heard ring back tone, but the CO. recording came on and said to check the number and dial again?
I think I am close but still no cigar.
Any ideas would be appreciated .

Have you just tried YYYY as the Desti Code instead of 81 and leave the rest set the way tyou have it?

Auto DN YYYY is the received digits of the DID
and according to the glossary :
The Auto DN cannot be the same as a:
• line pool access code
• destination
and I couldn't enter it until I removed the Matching DN #
I can't find any thing that will automatically point the auto DN to the destination code

I have since looked up private access code and they just seem to be listed from 0 to 9, although it let me number it 81, I have no idea what it is for.
If I can get it working I will have to look at remote restrictions as well. it looks like on a PRI you have to change all the trunks to enable trunk to trunk access. and it becomes a fraud threat
I do like Puzzles.
I just don't like looking puzzled while sitting in the customers office for hours, playing with their phones.
I'm sure they think the meter is running.

I undersstand, take it out of Auto DN and just make it a Desti Code. That should work.

Thank you Hawks

That is what it says.
I'm not sure how I got sidetracked.

dest code 4777 to rout 002
rout 002 absorb all dial out:1234567890
sort out the remote access pkg, and restrictions
COOL!

I will give it a try.
