Hi all;
I just had to reinstall everything on my PC. Fresh copy of XP SP2... check. Installed IIS off the CD. Check. Installed the latest ActivePerl off their site. Check. Copied over my old website directory, complete with all it's perl scripts... check.

The website runs fine, but when I go to use a perl script (say, to submit a comment), it spends forever "Opening Page..." (in IE 6) and then times out. I know that I ran into this a year and half ago when I did this the first time, I'll be danged if I can remember what it was though!

I've checked, the page references the script file right, the script file points to perl right, the .pl extension is listed in the Application Configuration in IIS and points to the right EXE. I've run the permissions wizard to make sure things are set right, and just for the heck of it I tried giving everyone permission to do everyone on the cgi-bin directory, and that wasn't it either.

Please, someone, make me slap my forehead and go Doh! What am I missing here?

Check out barbie's Faq on Perl & IIS, faq219-3559, and there's also an activestate FAQ there as well
