Anybody know of a module (or other solutions), where I can read the Hardware Vendor Name from WMI on a Windows 2000 Server?
Windows 20003 and XP, have the WMIC command, but that can't be used on W2K, so I need a module that can read the information fram WMI.

Max,
your request is starigfhtforward but has it been asked in the right forum

I don't know. Since I want a Perl script to find out the Manufacturer of the server, so it can install different hardware monitoring depending on type of equipment, I think it's the right forum. I've tried on other forums, but nobody seems to have solution for Perl - but I've got a lot of solutions for VB. But since my VB experience is pretty limited, I would prefer ruling out Perl before I use VB.
Otherwise please advise the right forum for me.

Thanks

Surprisingly, a search for WMI on turns up very little.

The only thing I could find was:

Win32::process::Info::WMI - Provide process information via WMI

Which is at:

worth a look but I don't think it's what you want.
