hello-
i have a two cluster system (one primary and the other back up) where i am using a software to replicate data over to the other cluster real time. i want to place an external USB hard drive on the second cluster, 2nd Node (B), to perform a "Scheduled Task" XCOPY.BAT within Microsoft. all my users are pointing to the primary clusters.
my question is can i perform a XCOPY.bat and not worry about users intruding in the process? specifically what i mean is when the XCOPY is running and users are writing onto my external RAID, will that interupt the XCOPY process by stopping or state that "the file is in use"? i would like to automate this process by using the Scheduled Task without disconnecting the back up CAT V cables. do you think XCOPY is smart enough to copy what's available and press on? actually, there might be a command in XCOPY that might do that job-i need to look into that.
thanks in advance!
