I'm attempting to query a table, and count all records in a certain field *excluding* duplicates. I'm sure this solution is extremely simple, but I can't seem to get my mind around to what I need to do. If anyone can just point me in the right direction it would be appreciated!

Ex:
A field with customers named "Smith", "Johnson", "Smith", and "Craven" would only return a total count of three, counting only once for "Smith". Thanks for any help in advance!
xtreme1
rbio@excite.com
