Hello,
I have a report I created for a client and using the exact same database SQL 2000 and version of Crystal 10, it is much slower at their site. It is a very complex report that uses around 4 views linked together and I have checked to see that all permissions look the same but when I run it there it times out on the client viewer but continue to run in the background until created about 10 minutes later. Here I can run the report in just around 2 minutes or less for the time frame selected. Does anyone have any hints as too how I can improve the performance in their environment and what I can look for as to where it is slowing down. Any adivse will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

By the way they are using a WIndows 2003 server that is much bigger than what I am using in my test envirnment but it runs much faster here

Is there more than one table or view? If so make sure the links are the same at their site as they are on your development machine. Then turn off auto smart linking if you haven't already.

The linking is the same and way we call this report though our application is all the same expect for in their environment it runs much slower.

Check File / Options, especially the database tab. When there are a mass of settings, doing [Print Screen] and pasting the screen image to a word document is a useful short cut.

If that's not it, try Database > Show SQL Query. You can paste it as text and check to see if it is the same.
