When accessing the Internet through a session I get very slow access to the internet. I am in a different city to the citrix servers but I am sure it is not bandwidth because we have good connections to citrix any ideas?

First, I'm curious, if you can access the internet from the city you're in, why can't you just browse directly, instead of going through Citrix? Is a firewall blocking the web?

On to your question: Does it work OK if you're directly on the Citrix server? It could be possible that the DNS setup is less than optimal. What happens if you browse to the IP address instead of the URL? Is it possible that there's some sort of bandwidth controlling device like a PacketShaper limiting web traffic? Is it just web traffic that's slow? How quickly does an ftp download go?

Also keep in mind ICA traffic is designed to work with minimal bandwidth. How big is the pipe to the internet where the server is located?

Hope some of this can lead to an answer,
-gbiello

I suspect that you will find that you are not getting reduced access performance, but rather that your screen refresh/draw is suffering within the Citrix Session, a Citrix Session over the Internet using the Internet (Weird anyway) is going to provide a slow screen response.
