Hello,

Is it possible to access the PDT through a standard physical SDI port configured as a TTY? What command would need to be sent in order to access the PDT login prompt? I was under the impression that the PDT could only be accessed via IP with the PBX. (ex. if you attempt an rlogin connection with an incorrect username).

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Is it a command that is sent before/instead of the standard LOGI or is it accessed once a user is logged in via LOGI in a specific LD?

I am not attempting to access the PDT, however I need to have a general idea of how it is accessed as we have an SDI port on a customer's PBX that is stuck in the PDT. I am concerned that this has happened through a TTY port and I am trying to determine if a sequence of characters sent to the PBX could have caused this.

I believe if you hold down cntrl than type PDT you will get the pdt login prompt.

It's in PDT as if someone attempted/and log on? or is it waiting on a PDT password??

Nortellian is correct. type QUIT or EXIT if it is just sitting @ pdt prompt.

At this point the TTY is unresponsive and the vendor is checking into the matter. I just wanted to ensure I was aware of the command that could have placed the PBX into this state.

Thanks and Regards,

Have you STAT the TTY's in LD 37? it just may be disabled.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I believe the port is probably disabled now, but the customer was receiving PDT related errors earlier. I cannot check on the TTY status as the password I have is denied access to LD 37. This is CS 5.0. Thank you for the suggestion however, and I will pass it along to the customer.
