pdf references?

I am wondering if someone can recommend some references to help understand pdf files (create them, etc.).

The Portable Document Format (.pdf) file is used primarily be Adobe Acrobat. To create them, you will need to get the full version of the software (as opposed to the 'reader', which is freeware).

you can get pdf's for free. Search the net for freepdf, ghostscript and redmon and you'll get all you have to know.
