Hi

Does anybody know of a good tool that I can buy to allow me to generate PDF files programatically?

It must have a C# API, and be fairly easy to get up and running with.

I have already found one ( which looks quite good in the evaluation, but the powers that be have deemed that I should see if I can find something cheaper.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I don't know about "cheaper", but I use activePDF Toolkit for some projects. Most of the time, I output PostScript files and convert to PDF with activePDF Server. And lastly, for simple PDFs, I simply create them from scratch. The PDF format is published, and C# can certainly do the necessary file io.

I second the recommendation of activePDF Toolkit. We make extensive use of this component to fill out template PDFs.

Thanks for you responses.

In the end, I managed to do everything I wanted to do with the cut down freebie version of Dynamic PDF. The good thing about using this was that I was able to write directly to PDF, rather than to another file format and then run a conversion tool. Does take quite a bit of messing around to get it to work satisfactorily though!

The toolkit tgreer & I recommended writes directly to a PDF form w/o requiring conversion from another file format, so I am a bit confused by your response.
