Pdf export creates some screened text

Pdf files created using quark 5.(?) create a pdf file that contains some text as 100%K and some text within even the same word coming out as about 90%K. All text is set to 100%K.

Anyone have any ideas? It makes no sense to me.

Play around with the setting is in Acrobat. See if that helps. If that doesn;t work try printing to the Distiller as opposed to the PDF writer.

It turns out that setting the dialogue boxes (within quark's export to pdf ) to NOT override distiller's settings is what solved the problem.
