I am trying to create a pdf file from a quark document(4.11) from work, at home, and don't have a postscript printer (just a crappy rgb inkjet).
I have acrobat 4 installed and distiller (and quark 4.11), how can I go about creating the pdf, distiller always looks for a postscript printer and so there it ends.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

I forgot to add that i am on win98 se.

Well Barehug, in order to export your document as PDF you need to create a PS file while giving the Print Command.

Select Adobe Distiller in the Print Dropdown menu and click on the Print Button. This will create a PS file. Now try activating the Distiller mannualy and open the PS file in it. It will then convert the PS file into PDF.

You have not mentioned in your Email "Whether you have PDF filter extension or not"? If not then try downloading it from the website or from
Hope this helps,

Well one option is to have an adobe distiller and you can immediately distill the file to make an .pdf file.As adobe distiller ppd is an postscript and is acted upon as an virtual printer.

The other way around is to make an .ps file with a postscript printer installed on your system. ypu can install a postscript printer.Go to settings>printer>add new>select alocal prinetr> set it to "print to file" in the port option>select an apple printer-laserWriter>set it to default printer> dont print a test page and click finish. you may need your win 98 cd.

Now from the print menu print the file and name it as .prn file.

open this .prn file with distiller by open all files and then u will be able to generate a .pdf file.

very easy!!Hope this help.
