I have a Yellow Exclamation mark on my second IDE controller.
"Device Status Code 10 This device is either not present or not working properly or does not have aall the drivers installed"

I have deleted the Master PCI Bus then reinstalled it.
NO CHANGE
I have tryed to upgrade the drivers from the Win98 Disk
NO CHANGE
I have downloade a new version of the drivers and tryed installing them> NO CHANGE
I have checked my BIOS setting they are set to AUTO for large harddrives.

I have checked the system startup Confirm each step.
No Problem in start up reported.

Here is the system infor:
1: Acer Aspire
2: PII 300hz
3: Dual boot= Win98 /Fedora
4: 2 hardrive #1 Win98 12gig Quantum Bigfoot TX8.0AT
#2 Fedora 20gig Western Digital WD200BB-00AuA1

I have run out of ideas as of what to do next.
Got any different ideas as how to cure this problem?
I am also having a problem of system wanting to sometime boot into Safe mode. I do not know if this part of the problem.

How about downloading and running Belarc advisor. Interested in what chipset is involved.
Intel and VIA both have some issues where the drivers get corrupted and replacements give problems.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

What do you have hooked up to channel #2? If you unplug whatever is hooked up, do you still get the yellow mark?

Well it seem like the problem of the yellow exclamation mark is over.

It seem like the secondary IDE controller is dead. I tried switching things around and now I can not get the controller to react to anything.

Well that solves that little problem. I guess I will have to see if I can install that Ulta66 pci controller card.

Either that or have no cdrom drive.

Oh well thanks for the help maybe You all can be help if I have trouble getting the card to work.

Thanks again
