hello! 'just have this one ms wink2k server question/problem:

i can't connect my internal AOPEN modem from my PC for dial-up.

i tried to load the Aopen drivers and seems to me that it conflict with the internal PCI Simple Communication Controller.

under "device manager" i got this:

-modems
! PCI simple Communications Controller

and when i tried to reboot the system, after logging in, they system PnP recognizes the AOpen FM56-SM Soft PCI Modem. but after i tried installing the drivers, the system goes out of win and hanged, with the message:

STOP:c000026c {unable to load the device driver}
\SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\rksample.sys device driver could not be loaded. Error status was 0xc000012f.

i can put back the system after safemode, remove the device (modem Aopen), then restart the system.

can anybody tell me how to deal or correct the conflict? my PC works before - using win2k and i upgraded it to win2k server now. no additional devices.

Look and see if there is an exclamation mark beside a serial port if so select update driver and point it to the modem drivers then it will find and install the modem.
