Pc will not Boot stops after detecting no boot CD's

I shutdown my system last night, it was running slow. I rebooted the unit and it stops now after the BIOS checked for bootable CDroms. I have changed the BIOS to boot from hard drive first it still just stalls after checking the bios. I removed the extra old hard drive but still no dice. I recently reloaded XP Pro on the system. I have tried recovery console yet will try later tonight.

I am currently running the recovery console and checking the hard drive. I have run the following so far, fixboot, and chkdsk /r. I am going to run fixmbr next and see what happens.
