PC START UP AUTOMATICALY

I HAVE A MAXDATA P4 runnig WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
We SHUT it DOWN AT 17H AND
WHE FIND IT OPENED AT THE MORNING.
PLZ HELP ME.

check the start up options in the BIOS and look at the event log to see when it actually turned itself on (maybe)

The answer is "42"

You may have Wake On Lan(WOL) or Wake On Modem(also called Wake On Ring), set up in the BIOS. It may of been trigged somehow, if WAKE ON RING/MODEM, a incoming phone call will power on the pc.

Did you actually see the PC power off? XP, by default, will restart upon an error detection, including any errors detected during shutdown.
