Hello all,

We use a 403ds, pri, 3.1.48, VCM10, 10 pc softphones and plantronics DSP100 headsets. all works fine except for this:

When we make an internal call, the called party answers but it takes up to 2 seconds before we can actually talk.

When we make an external call, this does not happen.

Fast start is enabled both in manager and in application.
Direct mediapath is enabled as well.

All clients are XP SP2.

Anybody an idea why this happens?

Do you use a fixed codec?
Did you change the QoS / VoIP policy on the XP machines?

1. Yes, we use alaw g711.
2. Not exactely sure to what specific XP item you are referring to. Do you mean the qos packet scheduler?

Hello.

New user.

Turn direct media path off. We have completed extensive testing here to prove that turning direct media path on creates this speech gap.

I know you should be able to use direct media path to reduce the load on vcm resources however it seems there is a bug here somewhere.

I am currently waiting for a response to a raised ticket with Avaya on this issue.

Cheers

This did fix the problem for this moment. Have you heard anything yet from Avaya?
