Hello,

I purchased a new factory built PC in January this year with the following spec.
P4 2.53 processor
256 ddr ram
60gig IDE HDD (7200rpm)
64meg nVidia Geforce 4mx420.
XP home edition

This has run all apps and 3d games running at full detail etc. with no problems until recently. However I have suddenly lost some performance when running some games. Sometimes they appear jerky and/or will freeze for a couple of seconds.
I installed new Nvidia drivers last week and thought that this may have caused the problem and so rolled back the driver but the problem remains.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Steve.

Make things as simple as possible — but no simpler.

there could be any host of reasons wrong, including what you have loading on startup, the harddrive space, the drivers, the OS itself.... any possible spyware apps running, any unncessary background programs running..

May have some spyware or some program running like the auto save program in XP or something like that. Also things like downloaders and chat programs.
