Hi there,

Anyone know why my PC would hang when trying to load CloneCD? It gets to the "Searching for APTI/SCSI devices" (Imay not be exactly correct on the device lettering) entry & then hangs my whole PC up. I can only get out of it by Ctr Alt Dlt and end task but even then my PC will not shut down.

I am running WIN98 on an AMD 800 with 98 ram.

Please can anyone help before I blame the kids and have to reinstall everything. :-( Live long and make your kids suffer..

Does any other cd burning software work? It sounds like either a jumper setting is wrong on the drive or drivers have problems. Basically, the lockup is occuring when the drive is being querried by the software. Something the drive is sending to the questions asked is invalid as far as the program is concerned. Try another cd copying utility, if that resolves the issue, then it is a prob with CloneCD. If the problem remains, check the jumper settings on the drive (master, slave or cable select depending on which is appropriate for your computer.) You might also try replacing the ide cable. Shouldn't make a difference, but I've seen stranger things.
<br>Good Luck, hg

Cheers I will have a go at your ideas Live long and make your kids suffer..
