I got assembled a Pentium Dual core with Intel D945GCL motherboard last month. For a month the PC was running fine. But suddenly when i switched on the PC a few days ago it didn't boot, the DVD light kept on blinking and there was no display on the monitor.

I tried disconnection and reconnecting the monitor cable, DVD, HD , RAM but no use.

When i tried to boot it on the next day it booted and when i shutted it down and tried to start it again it didn't boot.

I replaced the RAM(Kingstone DDR2 512)and the PC booted once and i was happy and thinking it was a RAM problem. Then i tried to restart the system, the same problem occured again. No display, the DVD drive kept on blinking.

Can someone suggest me if it is a motherboard problem or something else?

Have you tried resetting your BIOS?

On my most recent build, the BIOS was unstable, so I had to reset the stinking BIOS before every boot, or else it would do like what you're saying - everything looked like it was running, but I couldn't see anything on the monitor.

Then, after a Windows install, I flashed the BIOS to the most current version.

Now, no problems.

How big is your PSU?

Have you tried another PSU (with at least 400w)?
