Hi,

Does anyone known how I can make office XP show the path of the file in the title bar. All of the settings in windows explorer are set also like this which makes it easy to use. I want to do the same for Office as well.

Thx,

Sense.

Sense,

For both Word and Excel, here's a non-VBA option. It involves placing the "Address" icon on a toolbar. The path and file name will then always show for the current file.

Steps...

1) From the menu, choose: Tools - Customize.

2) In the "Customize" window, click on the "Toolbars" tab.

3) Click "New" (right side) to create a new toolbar.

4) Drag the new toolbar to the top of your screen, and fit it below the other toolbar(s), or perhaps alongside, depending on available space.

5) While still in the "Customize" window, click on the "Commands" tab.

6) Under "Categories" (left side), click on "Web".

7) Under "Commands" (right side), click-and-drag the "Address" icon to the toolbar you just previously created.

8) Place your cursor on the right-end of the "Address" icon, until your cursor changes to a cross. You can then click-and-drag to enlarge or reduce the width of the Address icon.

I hope this helps. Please advise as to how it fits.

Hi Dale,

Sorry for the late reply, but better late then never huh...

It wasn't what I was looking for but it sure helped out. I was looking for something like in Windows Explorer, but this will do for the moment.
One would think M$ would created this setting in Office XP. If I'am not mistaken this is standard in Office 97...

Thx again,

Sense
