Hello All,

I recently put in the latest patch from novell for Netware 6. It is sp4. Now even when I tried to update the server with any patch even before this one, it always causes the hard drive to dismount when I tell it to back up the old files and install the new ones. Is ths commmon or am I missing something?

I then have to go in and tell it when I am running the update to not save those files and it works fine!! I am confused here now.

Has anyone ever run into this or know what the problem is caused from??? If you have any suggestions or ideas on what could be causing this please let me know.

Thanks for any replies.

No it isnt. This server I had installed the patch on is our own tech server and it doesnt have allot on it.

Sys still has allot of room left.

check the volume

is the space proper space - ie does it have excessive pureable space - ie above 20%

the error isnt common
i must confess i never select the backup as it's slow and i know i can recover from another server if necessary

probably not good practice but such is life
