Can any one give me the procedure to install patches on the CS1K rle.5.0

The only way I do is in
LD 143
enter
MDP install a:test.zip

with Patches loaded on PCMCIA card with file named (test).

would the mdp install command remove the patches which are already installed on the system.

What would the mdp refresh command do?

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

If you are loading a new DEPT list it will remove unwanted/obsolete patches within the old Dept list file.

But you cannot remove patches from this load.
must use PDT commands and then I would recomend a vendor at that point.

If you use the MDP INSTALL command it will remove all existing patches before it installs the new deplist.
The MDP REFRESH command will leave existing patches in place
unless they have been updated, ie your new DEPLIST has an inproved version of the patch. The benefit of this is if your system has a non standard patch ( Not Automatically in the DEPLIST ) to fix a site specific problem, MDP REFRESH will leave it in place, while MDP INSTALL would delete it, causing the problem to return untill the patch was reloaded.
