Patch task Solaris 9 2

Hi Guys

I have a Sun Blade 150 to patch from the base version of Solaris 9 (it has never been patched, has no kernel patch on it at all!)
Are there any gotch ya's I should be aware of? or is it just a case of implementing the latest patch cluster?

Obviously I will have a 100% full backup of the system before I even move the patch cluster file on to it ;-), run in single user mode etc etc.

no, there are no "gotch ya's" for installing patches.
in April I installed recommended patches for Solaris 9 on a E420R and after that SDS/SVM failed, must have been a "bad patch", I downloaded a new Patchcluster and after installing these patches everything went fine

I have been hit or miss with patch clusters. The patch cluser before the latest broke both of my Sunray servers, luckily I was able to back out of them. The latest patch cluster, however worked like a charm and no hiccups. As long as you run the install_cluster command *WITHOUT* the option not to save the old data you should be good to go. Just in case you do have problems here is simple script to back out of the patch cluster:

cd /patch/dir
tail -r patch_order > reverse_order
sh
for P in `cat reverse_order`
 do
    patchrm $P
 done
