Hi,

I'm trying to make a sales/marketing email and have created it in Dreamweaver. When I paste it into Outlook, it either pastes as non-formatted text, or it pastes correctly with the formatting intact, but when I press the hot buttons (such as an image 'back to top' button), a script error 'Object Expected' is generated.

I've found that if I choose 'html' format for the email, it pastes correctly, but the script errors still occur. It works fine in the browser, only when I send it in an email does it not work. I've also inserted the associated images as attachments into the email.

The point is to try and send our clients snazzy-looking sales emails, without them having to click into another application -- that the email is standalone.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Many thanks
Sam

have you tried or considered the idea of sending your "HTML" formatted email from the server?

This article should provide some ideas.

hello

my company does the same thing, has e-shots sent out where the clients can click within the email and it'll take them to whatever link, right?

basically, save the file as a .htm (make sure that all your images, link paths are absolute, i.e. start with . open the htm in the browser, then go to Edit > Select All, then paste THIS in your outlook email message. send a test one to yourself to see how the clients would see it before you send it off.

p.s. if you are sending a mass mailshot to all your clients, it might be better to paste their addresses in the BCC: field so that they cant see eachothers emails as well.

hope that helps
