Password question

Is there anyway to know what the old password was after changing it. I have changed the password on the server but now i need to know the old password for some other application.

No, I don't think there is a way to learn what an old password was. At least, not through any Microsoft published way. Maybe there is some hack tool that can get it? Joseph L. Poandl

if you have a backup of before the point in time when you changed the password, you could restore the sam file to a temporary location and use L0phtcract to break it:
