password protected documents

Is there anyway to open a word document that has been password protected and you don't know the password? An ex-employee left some files on her machine some of which appear to be business related. Many thanks for any help you can pass on.
 
Yes- You have to crack the password. There are numerous products available, do a google search.

Thanks. I was doing this for a friend - I don't like giving up my secrets as everyone seems to think I'm pretty smart on the computer;) Anyway I think he got it. But I'll keep that in mind if I need the info again.

By default, the administrator of the computer should be able to open these files. Good luck.

How would the administrator have the password to an office document? I've never heard of that and its just an interesting post that mayhelp forum users in the future
