password protected and I don't want it

hosting a site on a win 2k3 box using iis 6. seems when a visitor to the site hits anything in the cgi-bin directory, they are prompted for a username password. When I check the settings it has allow anonymous access to it but obviously not working....please help....

The web site itself may have anonymous access but you need to check the file permissions too.

First verify which ID is used for anonymous access, usually IUSER_COMPUTERNAME. Assign this ID NTFS FILE Permissions to your directory and all the files within it.
