Passing parameters from main report to subreport 1

I have looked through the previous threads and cannot find the answer:

I have 2 parameters being passed to a report. I want to use one of the parameters as selection criteria in a subreport. That particular parameter contains a wildcard (ie: code = FD01*M)

When I create the subreport and link it through a field on my main report, I get data. When I try to select a subset of records based on the wildcard parameter, I don't get any data in my subreport.

Can someone please help?

Dianew: If you reproduce the parameter in the subreport you will then be able to join main to subreport on the 2 parameter fields (untick the box marked Select Data - bottom right of the dialog- to turn off the display of fields in the subreport and scroll through the list of parameters -bottom left-to locate the correct one) David C. Did you ever find a solution to this problem? my sub report comes up empty in a similar circumstance.
