Assuming you have no actuall Null in the database, the only way to "manufacture" a Null within Crystal is to trick it.
Create a formula that returns a constant. Use that formula as the return value when you need a Null.
Go back and remove the constant expression in that formula.
Ignore the error message when trying to run the report.
