Hello , i have a couple of questions for all you IP-GURUS??

A couple of features I am unsure of??

Voice announce to an ext.?
old way *ext would =voice announce than p/u an talk.

How do I do that now?
I have a door phone with controller, came over line #7 before, plugged into line 7 on ip and nothing???Shouldn't this function the same way? The DPC (door phone controller) should generate ring.

fax ext short code so no 9 is needed also.

thanks

thanks

1. With IP Office, you could easily make a shortcode to emulate the * + ext for voice announce. The feature is "dial direct".
2. Any door controller designed for a CO position should work fine on IP Office. Make sure you have a correct incoming call route set. Put your test set in parallel to listen to progress during testing.
3. Several choices for fax extension to not need 9 - much depends on your numbering plan.

Just keep in mind that IP Office and Partner ACS are very different animals - while you can emulate many features, they won't "feel" the same.

MFORRENCE:

Thanks for the advise. The "dial direct" is the part that I had wrong. I did not have an incoming call route set for the door phone. that will probably take care of it.

As for the fax ext. # 201. I have tried the "USER" short code
of N/DIAL/9N STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.. Oops.

thanks again tho!!

For fax, N/Dial/N with appropriate line group (make sure your working lines are in a unique line group) Remember to consider matching order. If your fax dials a number that matches an extension or other shortcode, it will not properly connect. It is truly easiest to get user to dial 9 when sending a fax.
