partial update

I am trying to update part of an vchaddress1 field. An example is the following:

125 17 av NW

I want to correct the "av" to "Ave" and keep all the rest.

So it should look like:

125 17 Ave NW

Is there anyway I can do this without manually going in and changing each record individually?

Use the Replace function.

Update table
Set col=Replace(col, ' av ', 'Ave ') Terry L. Broadbent
