Hi
i have 2 IPO500 in SCN both running 7.0.27, i would like to let the users of one IPO park a call and let users from the other IPO to retrieve the call using one of their button programming.
is it possible ??
thanks

Yes it is

create a huntgroup and advertise the group but without any users and turn on Queueing, do not turn on announcements, (Optional: set a voicemail option if you want callers to return to reception and create a leave point for that group and send that straight to reception)

Have the users that need to pick up the call press a Group button for that group (flashes when there is a call in the queue) and you are good to go.

this isn't what i need..
i have 2 receptionnist (they receive all the external calls) and they sometimes need to park calls so other users from the other IPO can retreive the calls.
this works fine when everybody is the same IPO using Call Park buttons.
thanks

and that is exactly the solution I described for SCN systems.
You cannot park but you can advertise groups and have calls in queue picked up without them ringing anywhere.
I have that on a 4 site system working like a charm and they have instead of 4 park buttons 4 group buttons to pick up calls on any system.
OR
I just don't get what you want

ok that's what i need,
so just exactly how the receptionist is going to put the call in the advertised group ? can we use a button ? is it the button with the action 'group' ?
can i use 2 groups i don't want them to put more than one call per queue, is it possible?

no just a dial button to transfer and a group button to pick up.
The group button will flash if someone is in the group in the queue/park just like a regular park button so users don't have to get used to a big difference, just that you only press the Queue/Park button once to pick up the call

I thought the search function of the forum was "fixed?"

This sounds like a great idea in theory, but at least on 6.1 I can't get it to function.

I create an advertised huntgroup with no users "Park 1" let's say and then a Group button on the user phones for the Park 1 group.

Group is created with queuing turned on and a limit of one user in queue. No announcements, no members. All other settings are the default.

I can manually transfer a call to the new huntgroup and the test caller hears ringing (I'd rather they hear hold music), however the group button never lights with either call alerting or call queued as per the group button suggests in the docs.

Per docs, call should be considered queued if there are more calls waiting than available group members, so it should follow that with no group members, the call always ends up in the queue status and would show with that indicator. However, that's not the case--at least not on my 5420 phone.

If I press the Park 1 button on the phone I created, I'm connected to the user, but there's no visual indication that a call was in that group and queued. Am I missing something?

You need to use "group" for the button.
When there is a call for that group then it will light up.
For music on hold turn on the announcements and set it for MOH.
Perhaps you could use a silence for the first announcement.
In vmpro that is eng/mc_01.wav

Hi tlpeter,

What do you mean by "group" as the button? To be clear, I'm using "Group" as the action in the button programming. Under Action Data, I'm selecting the "Park 1" huntgroup I created with no members, queuing turned on, and a limit of one in queue length.

Doing that, the button does not light up (or in this case, underline on the 5420 phone) when there's a call queued, however if I press the button while the call is queued it answers.

Are you suggesting something different?

Thanks!

It should work fine.
What happens if you call the group?

tlpeter: Works as expected. I'm testing right now only on the main IP office, so I'm not even trying across SCN now.

I call the extension for the Park huntgroup and get the announcement with MOH from one station. I go to another station with the group button programmed into it as described above it and it just displays the label name. No underline/light. If I press the button, however, it answers the call queued in the huntgroup. It seems to be working except for the notification that a call is queued.

Per docs, on the 54XX phones, for a group button No calls should show as Label, Call alerting should show as Label <> (diamond), and calls queued should show as __Label__ (underlined). I just see Label.

Great question. I'm not sure. System is on 6.1, phones say 5420D REL: 6.00 3/6/09 HWT=31H, HWV=1, FWV=6.

Where is it documented what the latest terminal firmware is?

That is correct and the latest as far as I'm aware, I would still test with a 14xx, I have a feeling it's a handset rather than system issue

Weird, tried it on another 5420 phone on the same system and it works.

What would be the cause of that? Think a system reboot would fix it?

Also, what's the programming for a button to blind transfer the current call to one of these huntgroups?

To get things back on track, with the sharing of conference meet me ID's across the SCN in 8.0, we can only hope that the sharing of park ID's is not far behind. In fact using conference meet me could be used to achieve a similar effect.

Feature:dial
TN: Extension of the group

that will just send it into the gruop and done.

Seems I missed w whole lot here in this thread.
