I have created a parameter that is for the user to select a date range. I have inserted a date of 1/1/2002 as the default. I think the report would be better if the default date was always the current date. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for your help

Gary

Gary,

I do not believe this is possible but I would love to see this done. I hope you are listening, Crystal Decisions.

On the "Set Default Values" screen, I have all the fields blank except for the "Select or Enter Value to Add" which shows current date in MM/DD/YYYY format. If you click on the drop down arrow, a calendar for the current month is displayed with current date highlighted.

I use Seagate Info 7.5.

Hi,

If you don't put a default value for the date in the parameter it will always come up with the current date.

By putting the default date in you are overruling this.

Good one alley. It always helps to keep things simple. Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports, Goldmine and MS Office

Be careful doing this if you are using datetime fields though, it can create quite a mess (as I've learned from experience!)

Thanks for all the response - where is the "set default values screen"

I am using cr 8.5 and have not located this.

duh - i just realized where the set default values screen is" its on the parameter editor

THANKS

GaryWilson - No, I do not. Why do you ask?

The name of our medical billing software is (CSM) creative socio medics. All the reporting is done through crystal. I saw the csm2 and guessed you were working on csm software. Thanks for your post as we were able to use this info.
