There are 2 ranges in the Input/Output Range in the properties of LPT1 port. Shouldn't it only be 1? If so, how do I delete one? I tried reinstalling it but same thing. Janny

I just pulled my primary machine info up, shows 378 and 778. So it probably doesn't have any problem. Since the addresses are related, probably is an addressing issue during hardware identification.
Also pulled the same info on another machine, shows single I/O address range. Single range machine is an older M/B.
Both machines are working fine.
Sorry that I hadn't noticed this before. When the printers are working correctly there isn't reason to look there.
I haven't installed a PP zip drive on the dual address machine , so I can't tell if that might be a cause of failure. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Thanks! At least I know that's not the problem.

I installed a printer on the same parallel port and that works fine. I installed the Zip drive on a different laptop and that works fine too.

This is really starting to get to me!!

Thanks again for your help.
