Hi,

Our 61C is using a universal trunk card for our overhead paging system but we are out of ports. I now need to add another PA and was hoping to use the E&M NT8D15 trunk card. I set the RDB and the TDB just like the UTC but cannot PA via the ACOD (TGAR is OK). I can PA with a buttset.

This is the error I receive build the pag.

ERR4079 tn
The hardware ID (type of unit (COT, DID, etc.) and signaling (LOP,GRD,
EAM, etc.) is not supported by the card (XUT, XEM, or any other IPE
trunk card). The software configuration no longer matches the hardware
configuration for the unit. Unit is disabled.
Check that correct card for desired trunks is in configured slot. Check
configuration of unit.
Severity: Minor

Thanks in advance!

You can use a E&M card with the same RDB as a UTC, first you need to find out if the PA supports E&M signaling. If it does then you will have to build the RDB as a TIE not COT. The M lead is what is going to pull up your PA and cut you talk path through, you will also have to set your start type to IMM

You may want to look into a PA unit that can use a analog extension, but there are some drawbacks to using them. Like no control over who can access it.

Perrypj,

I originally set the TKTP to pag in the RDB. The Trunk data block TYPE=PAG and the XTRK=XEM. Was this incorrect?

After reading your response I configured my RDB as a Tie but it will not let me add the RTMB.

Route type/station type conflict.

Thanks again

Type has to be TIE in LD 14
