Paging feature codes ...

Recently, a friend whose system I help program lost the page button on their set. I thought it would be easy to restore the feature, but it's proving a bit more difficult than I thought.

I had the user go to another phone where the paging button works, and had them do a Feature*0. When pressed, the LCD display simply says "PAGE". When the button is depressed, the display reads "Paging 1". There is no preceding tone, and from what the client is telling me, the pages come through a speaker, and not the sets themselves.

I first had the user program a F611/Page Internal Zone 1 feature key, but that didn't work. Next, we tried a F631/Page Internal Zone 1 + speaker, but that didn't work either.

They have a MICS with 7.1 software. My release is R1T1, so my displays don't match theirs - difficult to troubleshoot.

Is anyone aware of another page feature code I can try that I might have missed?

Thanks for the help.

You can put F60, which is general page or just copy a set that has the page button working to the set that is not.
Good luck.

It could be an analog trunk attached to a paging amp. Go through the line names and see if one is named Page.

Good idea, Dewey ... didn't think of that! Can trunks be programmed on soft buttons though? I thought trunks were limited to buttons with a status LED ... am I wrong on that?

Yes, there's no lines on a softkey. Put your test set on the page out pins and do Ftr62 to make sure the page is even leaving.

Hmmm... It does sound like trunk paging. If that user had his page on a non-lcd button, he might have had it programmed as a pool button, with the page trunk as the only member.

To determine if that's the case, you can have him press intercom, and then a single digit. Start with 9, and work your way down. When you get to a digit that shows page on the display, program his button as f64x (x=that digit).

That's my thought as well, Rik. I'll give that a try and see what happens. I'm in WI, and the site is in IL, so the next time I'm down, I'll give this a try. Thanks.
