I was reading the above thread about a few items. First I followed the suggestion to find the tn and disu it but this wouldn't work. Could someone look at what I did and tell me if I did something wrong? Then I want to get more info. on setting the timer for disconnect as we did this at our old facility and it worked GREAT.

1. paging destination busy
Instructions:
ld 21
ltm
return

one of those trunk groups will have one member and it should be a page route, that tn needs disu x y in load 32.

2.The timer
Instructions:
The disconnect timer is call TFD in the RDB of the paging route. To get to it in LD16 when CNTL comes up say YES and TIMR enter TFD 30. It will disconnect after 30 seconds reguardless.

How I see it????:
LD 16
CNTL (comes up automatically??) YES
TIMR (comes up automatically??) TFD 30

Wouldn't I have to define the paging port somewhere or something as I don't want it to disconnect all lines after 30 seconds?

Route 4 looks like the one for paging, in other words. See your pasted data - even if its called WAT, I think the DES info plus the fact there is only one trunk, both lead us to think it is paging.

You can't Disable in LD 21, use LD 20

Route 4 says paging

DES PAGE
TN 011 0 00 00 MBER 1

DISU 11 0

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

The disu is performed by the instructions in ld 32 from the prior post. As you can see I tried this on
TN 11 0
and
TN 1 17

Neither worked.

How do I verify for sure that it is route 4??

Also is there a better way to do this? Or is this the method?
And thanks for the info.

why are you disabling the member to chg the RDB???
1 member & it is DES page kinda gives it away.

To absolutely prove it is Route 4, LD21 PRT TYPE RDB ROUT 4, then lok for the ACCD prompt and 'quietly' dial it from a phone that (may need TGAR 0 and CLS UNR).

Speak/Page yourself to your own number and see if you get a call :) - in other words, listen to the speakers and see if you hear yourself testing.

If you do, then you proved it was Route 4.

Not sure what you are asking.

GHTROUT, What if I just set this on Route 4 is there a way to quickly test this? Do I hold page open for 30 seconds and it should then disconnect.

Also if I'm wrong how do I quickly go back?

Then type TFD ???

You should always "PRT" the Route before you make a change anyways. If you do, you'll see the ACCD - tdialing that will prove you're on the right route.

To test it though...yes, dial the Paging access code, and just unplug the handset to keep it silent...wait 30 seconds and you'll see the line go idle.

To back out, perform the exact steps you used to change it, but replace "TFD 30" with the old value - "TFD 0"

lastly...
If you get an error message on the TTY when you enter TFD, we will need to change gears and convert it from WAT to another trunk type.
...but I don't think you'll get an error.

Be confident that you are not gonna screw anything up...this is a low risk change for Route 4

After rereading this, I think I know what you are asking here.

Ok the reason for the disu is because we had a busy signal on the paging number. I was trying to figure out how to properly fix this. Problem was they ended up just rebooting the PBX.

For the future I would like to set a time out feature as I had this done before and it killed the problem of getting a busy paging line.

Outstanding! Sure better than everyone in the warehouse listening to Sally tell Mabel her personal problems over an open paging line...the one she forgot to hang up on :)
