I have a form that has a pageframe. The pageframe has 3 pages, with an assortment of controls: grid, listbox, combobox, etc. The problem is that whenever I run a report in the Preview window and then try to access the form that has the pageframe, my computer crashes and I have to restart (Cold boot. A soft boot won't do.) The problem seems to apply to any form having a pageframe. After running a report (preview), whenever I try to access any form with a pageframe, the computer crashes. If I access other forms without pageframes, there is no problem.

What could be wrong. I have Visual Foxpro 6.0 and Windows 98. I haven't installed any Service Packs.

Please help.

Thanx,

Phita.

Do you have an HP printer? You are probably experiencing the famous HP Printer Driver Divide by Zero Stupidity. Install the service packs.

Recently I had a similar issue that the clients computer (COMPAQ 1 Ghz) getting into freeze whenever a pageframe or grid class is instatiated. The client computer had VFP6.0 installed where as the installation was done with VFP6-SP4 compiled runtime software (and also the run time libraries installed as well).. The VFP6-SP4 related to Visual Studio 6. The printer also used to crash at times with no relation to VFP software....

Just after some trial & error... we uninstalled VFP6.0, installed the Visual Studio 6 with SP4 and all these problems vanished to date.

So I suggest you install the SP4 or SP5 immediately and try. Also if the compilation is without SP4, then please recompile it with SP4 installed. This could give you relief.

Hope this helps you. ramani :-9

Thanx guys,
Yes I had a HP printer installed. I uninstalled it and woops, the problem was gone. I am now looking for the Service Pack to correct the problem once and for all. I shall download Service Pack 6 from Microsoft site.

Peterson.
