I have most of my users able to connect to OWA from any network, home or elsewhere, and it is always successful...but the user that really counts: the boss is not able to view the page...he goes to the site and the login pops up, he enters it and then it displays the Page Not Found error...I have also tried my login and others, but it seems like it's his connection or something. He is on Direcway's satellite connection and using a uptodate linksys wireless router. (I ensure that it works everywhere except at his house). Any ideas, thanks in advance.

Can you login as your boss locally using OWA?

Are you using SSL or anything like that?

Does he or his mailfolder names have any special characters (... & %)?

Is the Boss' primary smtp address the same as everyone else?

Basically I don't think it's a problem with my boss' email address or account...because I tried the same laptop with the same account at my home wireless connection and it worked perfectly. I even tried my account at his house and it didn't work...so I believe it's timing out or something to do with his connection.

And yes the boss' primary smtp address is the same as everyone elses (just different name)...and no special characters. So I'm not sure what the problem boils down too...I appreciate any help further.

If I recall right, the sattelite connections use satellite for the downlink and a phone line for the uplink. There may be son latency issues, some IP addressing issues, or some MTU size issues.

To rule out the MTU size and test the latency, try pinging with different data sizes, ie.:

ping 123.123.123.123 -L 1000
ping 123.123.123.123 -L 2000
etc.

You should be able to see the resonse times as well as find any black hole routers or other issues with MTU size.

I pinged all the addresses in the workgroup (two wireless and one direct lan connection) and here are the results:

ping 123.123.123.123 -l 1000 (obviously fake address):
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128

ping 123.123.123.123 -l 2000 :
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 123.123.123.123: bytes=1000 time=<1ms TTL=128
(I did notice that the more and more times I did this after the initial time, the ms rose with the number of bytes, like in the 100s range)

And so on as far as you can go...so I have no idea what the problem would be. They are all using xp home, but I don't think that makes a difference cause it worked at my house. I tried using Mozilla instead of IE and the box popped up and said: Enter username and password for "" at mail.example.com ...then when I hit cancel it pops up again and said: Enter username and password for "mail.example.com" at mail.example.com ...and then it would open the mailbox. Odd, any suggestions? Thanks

Anyone have any ideas about the previous post? Thanks for any input.
