Page File not changing size

I set my page file to 5000-5000, hit set, then ok. On the prompt, I reboot, but the settings go right back to 1250-1250. I have 40 gigs free and I am an admin on the machine.

Why would my changes not take effect? Thanks.

Bill - I'm an administrator on that machine - so permissions shouldn't be an issue, right?

On my XP Pro SP2, the max size of Pagefile I can set is locked at 4096mb... maybe yours aswell?

I can only wonder why one would possibly want a page file of that size.
